I've been trying to overclock my AMD 64 3000+ ever since I got it about 4 or 5 months ago. Seeing that it's stock at 1.8GHz, and my previous CPU, an AMD Athlon XP at 2.3GHz, I just feel the itch to get it as high as possible. The multiplier is locked, but everything else is up for grabs. I have tried everything possible, and the highest I can get the core speed to is 229MHz (stock 200 x 9). It used to be that I couldn't get it past 214MHz. I don't know, maybe the new place I live at is better for it or something. Anyway, I was wondering if this really is my ceiling, or if I'm missing something. A new PSU is on its' way, so maybe that'll help, and the temps have never risen above 49c even while running Prime95 or playing F.E.A.R. So... any ideas?
Oh, and I'm new here. How y'all doin'?
