I just got some new parts on friday.
-AMD Phenom X3
-4Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 Ram
-Gigabyte Mobo
I was up all night trying to get my SATA hard disk running, only to find out that my mobo needs SATA drivers installed in AHCI to run them. I said **** it and ran them in IDE mode.
Finally got Windows to run under a very old 80Gb E-IDE hard disk and installed drivers.
Upon next boot up, After Bios post message, Windows startup bairly came up and just froze. You could faintly see it in my monitor. I flipped the PSU switch and when It told me about the unexpected shutdown, I clicked "Start Windows Normally" and It booted fine.
I have to go through this same process every time! What is going wrong? Possible HDD failure?
Im clueless.
