Possible Motherboard Problem?

So the other day lightning struck around my neighborhood and my computer shut off immediately after. When I restarted and everything everything was working fine except for the internet. No matter what I do (I've tried connecting it many times) the computer will not connect to the internet. Is this a motherboard issue? If so, what to do?

Thanks

Most likely you need a new network card. If you have onboard lan then you just need to go buy a pci network card. Lightning will usually fry modems and network cards faster than anything else.

Now's the time to get a Gigabit, or, heck, even a 10 Gigabit NIC, if i were you. That's if you have broadband, of course.....

I have a wireless router but it's hooked up through the wall not directly to the router.

It says there is a problem with the default gateway... or something like that?

So sounds like you have a wireless router/modem, more than likely when you took the power hit it screwed up some settings there. I would suggest unplugging the router/modem from the power outlet and shut down your computer. Leave everything off for about 1 minute, plug the router/modem back in, wait 1 minute, and then turn your computer back on and let us know if that fixed it.
