Possible Spyware Problem

I'm not really sure if my pc was infected by a virus but I noticed that, when an Internet Explorer window is open, the hour glass constantly pops up (approximately every 5 secs). This happens even if there's no activity (even on a blank page) and even if I'm not connected to the internet. This doesn't really affect the performance of my pc, I'm just concerned that this may lead to a bigger problem. My PC was infected by a spyware last night (nsis media). It may sound weird but this spyware has an uninstall option…which I clicked. The ad pop ups stopped. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the "hour glass" problem. But I experienced this problem just last night as well (this is when I noticed it at least). Please let me know if theres a way to fix this. Thanks Sirs.

It could be something running in the background, I suggest you do a system scan using a antivirus app.

What security do you have installed at the minute?

I have mcafee. not sure of the version though. (still at work :) )
no anti spyware application installed.

What security software would you recommend? Appreciate the help

I'll post a hijackthis log when I get home :) What spyware app. would you suggest? Appreciate the help guys, thanks.

I noticed one more thing...in processes, I noticed that whenever the hour glass appears, "SiteAdv.exe" appears as well. This is most likely the cause. But I'm unable to end the process because it disappears quickly. Is there a way to end this process? And Is "CLI.exe" a valid process? There are a couple of "CLI.exe" processes in task manager. Thanks

That "SiteAdv.exe" is McAfee siteadvisor, that's your problem, I'm sure you can turn it off. CLI.exe is related to your graphics card.
