Yeah that would work fine. Doesn't matter what edition of vista either as long as you have a good key
that isn't true at all.
You can use the key that you have on your other system but you must use the copy of vista that it is good for, if you have home premium, install home premium and use the key, if you have ultimate, install ultimate and use the key, if you have on your system now home premium you can't then go and install ultimate and use the home premium key.
1. I don't think it will work anyway
2. It is illegal, you don't have the legal rights to use a copy Vista you have not bought, only the one you have. You have bought a contract for the version of Vista you have and no other
When you end up doing the switchover make sure that you have all of the drivers you need, you can have them on a memory stick, disc whatever, just make sure you have them. Even if you only get your internet adapter drivers (if there is wireless card, generally ethernet ports in desktops auto install), then you will be able to get to the internet and download the others, but if you get onto the internet then vista will update your graphics card drivers itself so that shouldn't be a problem, but even so i wouldn't trust vista to do it, get the lattest version yourself.
I don't believe so. When you buy a factory pc the OS is OEM and usually cannot be extracted, although I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
you can do it but occasionally it will say it is in use. In that situation contact Microsoft and bullshit em, say your hard drive went, you upgraded it and now the key won't work. They will disable your old key so it will never be accepted by any microsoft authentication and if you use it then connect your system to the internet your OS will say it isn't valid and carry on the 30 days to input a proper one.
Once they have disabled your old key they give you a new one which works fine and dandy
