whenever i try and open Counter strike source it starts loading but then says the game is currently un available, so i hit ok then norton pops up immediatley after with a virus warning. norton says:

object name : c:\docume~1\Matt\Locals~1\~4f.tmp
virus name : Trojan Horse

then about 10 seconds after that norton pops up again with another warning from the same directory but a different file. this is then followed by a "all risks have been resovled" notification by norton. WHAT DAAAA HELLL lol.
cant find anything on this. ran a scan in that directory, nothing. HELP?

From what I have heard, Norton is system hogger. You will never (according to some threads) be fully able to delete Norton. After deleting Norton, go download Avast Home Edition. It requires absolutely free registration, and the software is absolutely spyware /virus free. I highly recommend Avast. Do an FULL scan of the whole hard drive, every hard drive, ever folder.

You can still do you work. It will be slower though. The time depends on how many files you have. The less files, the faster the scan will go. Just start scanning and leave it for 30 minutes or so.

well it lasted several hours and got to 3 million files. buuutt.... i posted my problem on steam forums and LOTS of other people were having to same problem, the only fix right now is to disable norton auto protection while playing a game. soo it looks like its not a virus just a conflict between norton a steam.
