Hey folks,

A friend of mine who lives in another part of the country a couple of hundered miles away has asked me to build a gaming PC for them. Im about to order in the parts, but im just wondering about the postage aspect of it. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to send a PC? (the case is an antec 1200, so ill use the box for that.) Also, any tips for packaging it?

Cheers everyone, much appreciated :D

Not sure how the rates compare to here in the states, but I shipped a full size rig for around $35, across the country, probably 1k+ miles. My case was similar in size to the one you've got in mind.

As for packing, I used the original box that came with the case. And stuck a whole bunch of bubble wrap in there. NOT those peanuts that come with some packages. Make sure you write FRAGILE all over the box, on top of telling the post office.

Oh, and like my PC Repair book says, make sure to turn of the computer and disconnecting the power before shipping.

-.-

Thats awesome, loads of bubble wrap it is then :)
I think i'll ask my local post office what the costs would be like.
Thanks for your help ;)

You have a computer, google the costs. Royal Mail standard here. Courier is another option (yes, google to get estimate). In these parts, Greyhound is a decent option too and hugely quicker if there is a point-to-point service.
