If I put http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8762234&type=product&id=1203815034383 which needs a 450 watt psu into a computer with a 250 watt psu, will it damage either of them? im getting a new psu when i can.

Well it wont be able to power the GPU with 250w.

You could blow your PSU by overloading it which in-turn could kill your system.


You will need to get a 500w PSU or so.

I just got a Geforce 9600 GT 512 GDDR3 my Gateway case only has a 300 watt PS so i got this Ultra Power Partner 5.25” Bay 325-Watt ATX Power Supply says it will now give me a 625 PS? only reason i went this way was the PS i have now has no on/off rocker switch and the case will not fix one that does. Could not find any PS in 500 watt range without the rocker switch.
