Hello,
Right Now I'm running on an nVidia 7900GT. At start up. I get a error message saying the following:

THe NVIDIA System Sentinel is reporting that the NVDIA-powered graphics card is not recieving sufficient power

It goes on to say...

To protect your hardware from potential damage or causing a potential system lockup, the graphics processor has lowered its performance to a level that allows continued safe operations.   :(

I payed $250 for this grafics card so that I could have better graphics then all my friends =p. and now. my performance is lowered!?!?! Someone help. is there anything I can do to route more power to my video card? Is there a way I can mkae this video card work right without getting a new PS? PLEASE HELP!

Before you go out buying a new PSU, make sure that you've plugged the PCI-E power connector into the video card.

What PSU do you have now? In particular, what is the amperage on the +12V rail (it will be printed on the side of the PSU).

yes, at the end of the grafices card (opposing side of the DVI uotout's) is a 6 pin connector. make sure its connected.
( i havnt heard of anyone getting that message while that connector wasnt connected so far :) )

I think one of my previous cases had some grounding issues as I'd get that error, sometimes many times in a row, when I tried to plug in something USB! And yes I also had the PCIex power plugged into the GPU.

I guess what I'm saying, there are a few things that could cause this, but typcially it's just what it says :P

Also, you said your friends had smaller PSU's. Realize, a 350w with 30A on the 12v rail(s) is much better than say a 450w with 16A on it's 12v rail.

I just opened up my case and checked the connector. it was in perfectly. I also checked my PSU. its a 450 watt PSU, and has 18A going to the +12V rail...

uhm. just one optical, and one Hard Drive. How would I check if my psu is dual railed. its sounds like something my psu woudnt be, so im guessing no.

it should be printed on the side, are two +12vs on it? it is so one can be dedicated to the gpu and 1 can run the system

and i was thnking if u had more than 2 hdd or opticals then u should unplug them but o well
