Power needs?

I am currently getting parts together for a new computer with a little help from my father. That being said I am curious as to whether the power supply we have will cut a dual processor computer a single sata HD, this card:

Power supply in question:

My father pointed out worries as to how the supply would handle the 12v's needed...

Better safe than sorry...

I have looked at some reviews it was more of a question of if the power supply can cover the card. The suggested "min" requirements of the card listed it as 400w power supply capable of pushing 26amps through the 12v, its wierd because at 400w that much amperage through the 12v is unseen from what I can see. So I am more asking how much this card is actually wanting to feed it?

i don't know the brand ultra. but if you go with a renowned brand like coolermaster you'll be in a good spot for the amps. I never heard of a psu that has trouble with the amount of amps it can supply. But i wouldn't take a crappy power supply with this monsterous video card.

That PSU provides a total +12V@35A. Are you referring to an actual dual processor machine (i.e. two physical processors, such as AMD FX-7x series), or just a single dual core CPU?

It should be OK if you have a single physical CPU, although I'd go with something a little better for an actual dual processor system. Most of Ultra's newer products are quite good, the V-Series are obviously their entry level units, though.

Sorry, yes my bad its a dual core, I just got the hardware from my father this last week all looks good just need to get the video card and should be set.
