Power save mode?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not. If not someone please move it to where it needs to be.

But anyways, i have a Dell Dimension 5100 that's acting weird. I don't know the exact specs of the unit. I had to replace the power supply unit about a month ago. The problem is that it won't come out of power save mode. I hit a key and move the mouse and nothing happens. On the front of the pc it has 1, 2, 3, 4. The #1 light is blinking and the #3 and #4 light's are solid green. Then right above the 3 and 4 there's a light that looks like a little can. It is also solid green. Also the CD drive is clicking in sync with the #1 blinking light. That's the lights that are on right now. A few minutes ago the numbers 2 and 4 were green and the others were off.

Not sure if anyone will be able to understand that. But that's the best that i can describe it. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks

Even Dell's support site will specify disabling the sleep/hibernation mode in the power options when a system fails to resume from the standby mode. http://support.dell.com/support/top...&component=-1&lang=-1&doclang=en&toggle=false

The advice here is first hit the power switch to shut everything down and start everything back up to then right click on the desktop to select the power schemes option and set everything to "never". That will solve the immediate problem where you will then simply have to shut the system down when not in use like overnight or when away at work for example.
