Power Saving while Downloading

Hi,

I have few questions to make:

1. May I know what is the best option to save power/ electricity while I am downloading. Normally, I would just switch off the monitor supply and let the CPU download. Is this the best option?

2. Or can I log-off or put the CPU on standby mode?

3. When CPU is on standby or log off mode, will the CPU continue to download?

Thanks.

I think the only way to save power from within windows would be to hinbernate your pc, but this effectively turns off the computer. So turning off the monitor would be the best thing to do.

If you are using a AMD processer and it supports Cool and Quiet this would lighten the juice abit.

To do this you need to enable CandQ in the bios, then into windows:
Control Pannel>Power Options> Min power management

you can lower your cpu power by half by under clocking it. also you can unplug all your hardware that are not going to be used during that time.
