Hi,
I created this thread to know if I can see difference in my performance system if I switch 500W power supply to 700W? I am with intel Q8200 2,8ghz maybe 3,2ghz later and radeon 4890.
Thank you for your respond!
Both fine brands, and actually if any psu fails it can damage parts, protection feature or not.My last one failed, but he had a protection feature that will not endommage my other parts, that why I am asking because I have ordered a OCZ modxstream pro 700w and I had a 500w dell silencer power & cooling before(RIP).
Heh, i need alot more things before i go for an ssdPower supplies can improve performance if you think beyond gaming or computational units per second etc.
Stability, reliability, data security, temperature management and therefore fan noise - are all performance indicators to me. Therefore an underpowered or low quality unit will reduce performance.
If that OCZ actually meets manufacturer specs in the real world then it is loads. Enjoy.
ps, bomber, you need a SSD for that bad boy machine of yours![]()
Depends on the quality of the unit.... a good quality one should have no issues with a few optical drives and hard drives as they are generally pretty low draw.how many components can a 500w generally handle?
other than the motherboard i have like 3-4 hds, 1 dvd write, 1 dvd rom, 1 floppy, and a few other components that require some power atleast, and of course the fans.
i dont think my power supply can handle them all. and now it can barely do just on HD, since the computer shuts off randomly, and i think it may have affected my mb now
