Currently doing a build here are the parts I am putting in it. I am wondering what your thoughts are on these 3 PSU's if these all are not sufficient or you recommend something else fill me in. Trying to keep costs low but i dont want a crappy PSU. Im not here to be judged at what im putting in it im here to ask which psu i should go with. Haters can go elsewhere.

Mobo: ASUS M5A99X EVO AM3+ 990x
GPU: Radeon xfx 6970 (1)
CPU: AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1ghz
Ram: 16g Corsair vengeance
Drives: 64g crucial ssd (1), 1tb seagate 7200rpm (1), 1tb hitachi 5400rpm (1)
CPU cooler: XSPC Rasa 750 RS240
Extras: DVD-rw 24x (1), Card Reader (1), Lian Li 5.25" Bezel Temp Gauges (2),
Case: Rosewill Thor v2

PSUs i am considering:
750's

850

Will 750 be sufficient to power my rig? I used newegg's PSU calculator and i potentially want to run 2 6870's so it said just under 750. If these are just horrible PSU's a kind suggestion to a good but not expensive PSU will be warmly appreciated.

thats what i was thinking too even though ive heard cheaper PSU's dont pump out consistently at what they are rated that will at least pump out 750 consistently if it turns out to be a "cheap" psu. Is XFX a decent brand? i havenet heard anything about them but i planned on getting their version of the 6870.

XFX is a very good brand. And I would only count on about 80% nominal output, so a 850 would be consistent for 680 watts. But I am not an electrical engineer, so its mainly guesswork.

A quality 650 watt unit would power your system. That 850 looks to be a great unit for the price. Looks kick arse too.
