Power Supply Fan

Hello.

Lately, my power supply impeller fan blade (facing inside of tower) has been hitting the metal screen on startup that quiets after a few minutes. I've checked the blades and they're all intact, so I assume it's caused by a misalignment of the fan. What I'm wondering now is if it would be safe to run the power supply without the metal screen?

Any input is much appreciated.

yea you can run it w/o the grill. Just becareful with your fingers bro.

Just out of curiosity, is that grille meant to keep objects that tend to break off of the power supply from falling or just protect your hands when you work on the tower with the power on? I was wondering 'cause none of the other fans have a cover.
