Power supply problem?

I've had this computer for a long time and always had that strange problem.
Each day, the first time I boot my computer and use it, it will eventually blue screen unless I reboot it. When it's about to blue screen, if I'm watching a video or playing video games, I will hear like static noises, like a crackling fire, the more I wait, the more it gets intense and eventually will blue screen.

So far I avoided this problem by always rebooting my computer right after the first time I boot it for the day. I never have this problem if I do that, but if I don't, I will 100% blue screen with the symptoms I described.

Someone at school told me it could be my power supply overpowering my motherboard or something like that and rebooting my computer could be eliminating static of my powersupply.

What do you guys think could be the problem? Do you guys ever heard of a problem like that?

Thank you!
Sorry for my english, I'm french

A crackling sounds lead me to think harddrive. Unless you have a fan blade hitting something. Best thing to do is pop open the side and find out where the sound is coming from.

Have you updated your sound drivers in awhile? Sometimes if you have a power cord near your speaker wire you can get a crackling sound, But I dont think that would be a reason it would blue screen. First update you onboard/sound card driver.

Thanks for the answer.
I don't think the crackling sounds comes from that though, because if I rebooted my computer, I won't be getting that sound until the next day when I boot my computer.
Basically my computer is okay after I reboot it until I shutdown for a night, then the next day if I don't reboot after booting it for the first time I will hear those sounds then blue screen

I'm gonna try updating my sound drivers, thanks.

Let's find out what that bluescreen is all about.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Thanks, here are what you asked:

Looks like I've had these ones, I could have more if I didn't avoid them by rebooting.
Edit: You'll probably notice the processors count changed, it's probably because I disabled Multi-Threading at one point. I got a i7 920.

Try updating your video card driver. The last few bluescreens were caused by it.

Thank you.
It's strange because I alwasys keep my video card driver up to date, but I often use beta drivers though..
It says I had one yesterday but didn't really, I think it was due to my CPU being overtemp I think... Because when I was playing a video game, my screen went black and then rebooted. At POST it said CPU over temp error. I know I really need to clean that up. But like I said I've had this problem since forever, even right after I had my computer cleaned.
The blue screen I pretty much avoided them since last time I formatted, maybe I've had one.
I'm gonna force one right now since I didn't reboot and we'll see :P

If you are running the latest drivers, it also could be the video card itself. And if you are having over heating issues, you really need to get that figured out and solved. What are your system specs? Do you have enough fans in your case to disperse the heat? Have you removed the heatsink from the processor? If so, did you clean off the old thermal paste and apply new?

Thanks.
When I had my computer cleaned I did ask them to change the thermal paste. I changed my video card and had this problem before too.
I frankly don't think my computer is quite clean and I have stock fan for the processor.

My specs:

ASUSTeK Computer INC. P6T SE
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 (before GTS250)
6gb RAM

if you need anything more just ask.

I would download a temp program to check cpu temps and post them up here so we can look at them. Do not use speedfan. Use something like coretemp or realtemp. Also what exact power supply are you using?

Hello, thank you and sorry for the long delay.
I have cleaned up my CPU fan and now almost never exceed 70C temp with CoreTemp.
I have also reformatted my computer to Windows 8 and installed latest drivers for my graphic card. I also went to ma-config.com to try and detect if I need to download any more drivers and it said "No recent driver is available for your hardware". I don't know this site is it any good?

My Power Supply is a Thermaltake TRX-750M TR2 RX-750AH3CH

I also just had another blue screen, like the ones I had before you told me it was my graphic card.

I was running a game while streaming a movie on my TV via wireless when it happened.

Can my graphic card be defective? I've had it for a year now and never really had a problem with it.

Thank you again for your time

Yep, thats another video card issue.

Still say your temps are way too high. Something is up with that.

Forgot to mention that is on heavy load, even though I was earlier and it went to 63 ish.

On idle the temp is around 45-50 C.

I read that a i7 920 is a very hot processor and under 85 is still safe, is it?

Edit: Also forgot to mention I didn't really reformat, but instead installed Windows 8 on my Windows 7 and had a windows.old folder. Can it be that some left over drivers still remains and is causing me problems?

Are you using the stock cooler? You may want to switch out to a aftermarket heatsink to keep it cool. Also what is your room temperature? Not sure why you installed windows 8 but you should be doing a fresh install whenever possible.

My room temperature is at 24. I installed Windows 8 because I got it for free at my college. I'll do a fresh install tonight, thank you!

I did a fresh install of Windows 8 (formatted my main drive).
My video card is not overclocked, at least I did not overclock it.
Here exactly what is my video card:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130595

My problem now lies with my video card as I just tested it and the temps go over 95 degrees...

I cleaned it up a bit when I cleaned up my CPU with a compressed gas duster, so I don't really get why it gets that high. My computer case is quite small but even when the side panel open it gets that high, with fan speed at max (85%). I'm using EVGA precision to check the temperatures by the way.

The smaller cases will have a heat issue. Can you link us to the case you have? You will need good airflow through the case to disperse all that heat between the cpu and gpu.
