Power Supply Question

Running a Single 9800GTX With a 600Watt PSU thinkin about dual video cards im thinking about just getting a 1000Watt would this be too much?

and my 600watt psu is that holding back my 9800 At all?
 
For two 9800 GTXes (assuming they're not overclocked), you need a minimum of 550W, with 30A supporting the 12V rails. Yes, I think 1000W would be overkill, and no, your current PSU probably isn't holding back your current setup. What's the model name of your PSU?
 
I am running a single 9800 GTX, but for two, I would go up around the 700w to 800w range. My 650w is SLI certified, but I feel it might put a load on it. 1000w will be an overkill, they are pretty expensive also. Newegg has tons of name brand 700w to 800w power supplies for good prices right now.
