Power Supply upgrade

Hey guys, my first thread in like a year

I'm slowly beginning to upgrade my computer that I have in the sig, my next thing to buy is a new PSU.

My budget is £45 including delivery & I'm looking for something mid range that will be able to power my system once upgraded.

I need something that will cope with a graphics card upgrade, which is also going to be mid range, I'm probably going to pick up something like a 4850 or a 9800GT/GTX+.

So far I've been looking at the following

Corsair 430W CX (28A)
Antec 450W VP450P (30A)
CoolerMaster Elite Power 500W (Unknown)

These are all within my price range..

Which do you think would be the best one to go for & does anyone have any alternatives for me?

Thanks :)

Of the three, probably the CX430. Not corsair's best work, but the CM is awful and the Antec is part of the Basiq line, which AFAIK is just a bit under corsair's CX line in performance.

If you can swing it, look for an Antec High Current Gamer 400W, Neo ECO 400W, or Earthwatts EA380D. A Seasonic S12II would also be good. Not sure what else is available over there...

I picked up a Modular 450W powercool in the end :]

Nothing special at all but it does the job, surpised it hasn't exploded yet!#

I was on a really strict budget, this saved me £5 by not needing to buy a 6pin > 8pin pcie adapter.

I've got my system overclocked on the unit right now, it's drawing 260W peak.

Obviously won't be doing any upgrading untill I get a new psu :]
