What's a good power supply to try to aim for for optimum gaming and multitasking? Also looking for something on the green side.... Any suggestions?

Going to need more information than that I think. It's possible to recommend brands (not sure about "Green", it's probably more green to just make sure to turn off/sleep your computer when you're not using it (wait... or did you mean the color green?)), but it's hard to say without knowing what wattage you need (what's your setup?).

haha i should have given more information >.< Well I'm not entirely sure of what my full specs are yet. I'm building a desktop PC for the first time and I was gonna try to pay for it one piece at a time, starting with the case. Should i wait to purchase the power supply later once I know what the rest of the specs will be?

Gaming or just an ordinary everyday computer or if you need it to a specific project type such as rendering...
Then you pick out your CPU, Mobo, RAM, GPU, HDD etc... and once that is all done you can pick out a PSU that will match your power requirements!

Ok so this is what I'm looking into.... It's going to be a gaming computer for games like Civ V which is coming out soon, or starcraft and warcraft to run at optimum graphics and smoothly. This is the case that caught my attention...

and then an Pentium i5 processor just because it said it works well with this motherboard. But my initial plan was to get an AMD processor because i hear they're better for gaming. Still in the research stages of this project though any advice would help me a lot :]
