Power supply

Hey guys i'm looking to get a good powersupply to run my pc. I have 4 fans plus the processor fan as well as 2 hdd and 2 dvd roms. If possible i want one thats got clean cords that are wrapped and kept clean not just all the wires hanging around you know..
 
Is that all? I have three 120mm fans with 140mm intake fan, 2 hdrives, 1 cd writer, 1 dvd burner, 2 1gb dimms(and a partridge in a pear tree. :P ) running on an Antec True Power II 480w supply. Well? The TP II 550w is on the way. That was supposed to be for a 2007 build until... :eek: my old board crapped! But the 550w will wait again when the two present 250gb ide drives have new company with a SATA array. Do you think a pair of 400gb WDs will work? The 550w will tell. A good 450w supply will cover your needs there however.
 
Got a graphics card? Those are hungry for power :) Cause if you don't, then you dont really need that powerful of a PSU. Unless you're on some workstation or something of that sorts..

Are you referring to a dual VPU model card or SLI setup? With either choice you would certainly wnat to consider stepping up to something like the TP II 480w Antec model or a good 500w Enermax for gaming with the extra hard drive in there too. The draw on the supply won't pull the supply down too fast.
 
I have a radeon 1300 i believe it is now i'm at work i cant remember the exact numbers. Its a dual card i have one digital and one vga it plugs into the power supply as well i just want one thats going to power everything and also be clean and not just have wires hanging around i want them to be wrapped up.
 
A Crossfire setup is the same thing as an SLI would be when running two video in sync with each other with only one output used for the monitor. When you buy a board that supports a dual card setup the adapter and crossover plug are generally shipped along with it. What do you mean by dual card other then one with two video processors or running two cards in sync?
 
Since that will see more power pulled from a supply the minimum recommended there would be about 450w for a supply. If you plan on gaming with the dual monitor setup a TP II 550w will cover that well. If you are on a budget or want a few ideas on price here's a few models in that wattage range to look over.

Another question what would you use to keep the wires organized and clean them up on those if i was to get one of those which i think i will?
 
That's really the strongest complaint against Enermax heard to date there. Yet Antec has been the primary and most reliable seen here. To keep the two 12v rails together you would simply use a plastic locking strap not any wire ties for sure. You get the ones that can be taken off if needed and be careful not to overtighten them. Once you wrap them around you pull one end through the holes on the other half of the tie until a plastic tab locks in right where you need it.
