Hello, could someone help me to choose a power supply according to the following components? how many watts would i need?

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6600 2.4G/1066/4M/S775
ASUS PCIE RAD EAX1950PRO 256M BOX X1950PRO
P4 S775 GIGA GA-965P-DS3 965P PCIE
OCZ 800MHZ DDR2 NO-ECC 2048MB PLAT XTC KIT
DVD+/-RW LG GSAH50L DL LS 18/18/+10 OEM BLK
SATA2 320.0 SEAGATE 7200.10 16M ST3320620AS

In terms of wattage I would say, to get the highest wattage PSU you can afford. The minimum that I would run an X1950 on would be 450W, and that would be a bare minimum for me. I got really random restarts and error when I tried to benchmark a X1950 on a 380W PSU.

The official recommendation is at least 450W, with a minimum of 30A available on the +12V rail. In practice it's the amperage requirement that's generally the more important. While the Thermaltake would probably work, it doesn't meet the recommended amperage on the +12V rails, and thus I would strongly reommend against it. There are better units for the money anyway. The HX620 is a great PSU, but a bit of overkill for that system. Having said that, the Cosair HX520 would be a great choice if it fits into your budget. The Enhance ENP-5150GH is another good choice, with a somewhat lower pricetag.

Do you have a budget in mind for the PSU?

thx a lot for the quick answers, the Cosair HX520 looks like a good choice, and thats around the price i had planned for psu, i will look into it.

thx again :)
