Power troubles

Ok lately I've had problems with my laptop. The piece inside the laptop the power cord plugs into I'm assuming is loose, as I have to push in the plug and hold it at a certain angle to get any power to the laptop. I've read online that I can either A. send it in for repairs B. weld it back or C. buy a new piece and weld it on. I don't want to send it in for repairs as that's like a $100 or more. Just wondering what this forum would have on thoughts & suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated:)

Hehehe...well first you wouldn't be welding, more like soldering :P I had basically the same problem with my laptop. It took me a whole 30 minutes to pull the power board out, resolder the connections, and stick it back in. The hardest part will probably be simply opening the laptop.

lol. Ya I guess I should have proof-read that. Meant solder not weld.:P I may try that, but I think I've read that I may have to remove like some stuff in case it burnt a little, and that could act as an insulator. I am hoping this is a simple fix. Am going to have my brother do the soldering, as I never really done it and I don't want something like this to be my first try, plus I think he has steadier hands than me lol.

Hehe, well all computers are different. I have a pictures of a laptop I had to completely tear apart just to get to the power adapter. However, my laptop has it's own little power board so I didn't need to touch the motherboard.
