power vanishing....

i have a pentium 4 system with 845 chipset based motherboard n 128 RAM......

when i start the button of the cabinet the the CAbinet led (red)starts for a while then after 2-3 seconds the cabinet swithes off and there is no display either not even the BIOS sound...


what should is do????? please advice....

Have you made any changes to the system recently? Ensure that all the power cables are plugged in firmly. It's quite likely that you have a faulty PSU, do you have another to test it with?

That should mean a few things, either your Power supply has gone south, or the protective mechanisms of your motherboard of power supply had kicked in because of a faulty component. You should open it up and work scientifically to eliminate the working components from the faulty ones.

Also, its called the PC tower or case, not the cabinet. Its the weirdest name I have heard someone describe a PC case.
