Powerline audio

I would like to have some of the sound of my TV in another room.
Does a powerline adapter for transmitting/receiving audio signal to active speakers exist?

You mean like, send audio through your house power lines or something? Please clarify.

Yes that is precisely what I mean.
Powerline adapters transmit data over a house's existing mains grid. I have some at home to get cabled LAN to every room with speeds up to 200 Mbit/s.

I wanted to know if any such adapters existed which transmit audio which could then be fed to a pair of speakers in a remote location.

Hmm, some sort of digital audio communication could work, but analogue would be to noisy. But, if that exists, I donno sorry. Plus you already have that LAN going, depending on how both systems are implemented, there's a chance that they'll interfere. Really interesting idea though, and could work.

yes....it did exist. years ago. maybe 10 yrs ago or longer. i never heard of it catching on though. your the 1st to bring it up. i will have to check.

from what i remember about it.
it superimposed the intelligence (sound) and used the 60 cycle as a carrier. interesting though.
just didn't take off. like mentioned maybe appliances and such may have caused to much interference.

only thing i will say i thought it was Bose. Nope...never did have it.
On the other hand they did say it exist. Since im not interested in buying
one you could follow up. On the lighter side im sure it had a lot to do with interference.
running wire is just another adventure. and a job.
