How do you change the Bios so that it will boot from a cd. I've pressed F10 and got in but the changes don't take place as it never boots from the cd. I placed CD-Rom at the top of the list, but nothing. I need to reformat the hard drive as it's been going crazy lately and now won't start up at all as I get a message saying "The procedure entry point DeleteServicePlugPlay Reg Keys could not be located in the dynamic link library umpnpmgr.dll."

Don't know what that means either. Anyone any suggestions? I'm running XP Pro and want to reinstall it from fresh.

Make sure that you select "Save changes" when you change the boot order in the BIOS.

Yep, I've done that everytime. The CD ROM Drive option stays in white letters, whereas the Hard Drive & Removable Devices are in blue, they also have + signs beside them.

Should the CD ROM option be at the top of the list and should I put - signs beside the other two options?
