pretty good for <700$ eh?

So far you're lucky to have such an good sys for that price. Shipping may not be lots, but at least it's an fair price. Seeing as you can only critique but not build :rolleyes::rolleyes: Why don't YOU try with the same standards?

Because i didn't open my mouth saying i could build something for 700$ like you, you enjoy showing off but when somebody proves you can't give what you promise then you get to the defensive, just like now.

I just looked up benchmarks for the 3870 and it's not as good as the 8800gt, it's close enough to spit at and it even beat it in some tests but not quiet there. Which means the 3850 isn't as good as the 8800gt.

The 3870 does run quieter/ cooler, is cheaper, and in less demand so I'm getting it.

no need to get defensive oscaryu
we are just holding you up to your bet
no hard feelings
and yes i don't need a operating system
i have arrangements for that lol

I'd love to take this into the PM's if you wish. After all, who was the first one attacking those threads before I came on? Hmm? Ok fine, I admit I was wrong, now you're attacking me. Hmm? I already said it's not that good. Now "other people" are posting things that they didn't look at correctly. EX - Why does he need an O/S when not asked for? How come he said I don't have 4GB when I PERFECTLY said I did? At least I TRY to help people, not just diss people off when they fail.

And I suggest you open up PMing...

Woot 100 posts.

sorry
I also suggest you to stop posting that. Immature and there are other people who can use your knowledge...

No, I have no hard feeling against you. Just an few [very] hard feeling against some people that like to shove some things down you're throat when you fail at something...

wait now that we are all happy
so
do you have to have a mobo that is compatible with pci-e 2.0 or is it just like a pci-e x16 slot or wat

No, only the new (I THINK) x38 boards are. And those are... $140 more than the P31-DS3L... You wouldn't really notice [that] big of an difference.

Case + PSU - Case is probably too small for that GFX, that PSU is crap. It would have problems powering an P4... and powering an high end GFX? Lol...

Motherboard - Good luck with Asus. One RAM stick not on it's compatibility list, it's not gonna work. And even if that did die in like an month, no warranty. Bad idea for open box.

RAM - Interesting. Slower memory. I wonder why? Why not spend $5 more for each kit and get faster ram?

HDD - Ok...

Overall, no offense, but that's kinda sad. OK for an beginner, but the system is horrible to me. What I REALLY don't like - Case, PSU, Motherboard, RAM.

GFX - Good...

CPU - Ripoff. ClubIT has the Q6600 G0 version for less + the G0 stepping...

Once again the hard drive is just a disaster in the waiting. And also the HD 3850 has no where near the performance of a 8800gt, it's about the same as a superclocked 8600GTS. In fact the HD 3870 doesn't even match the 8800gt (though it comes pretty darn close).

Once again all new HDD's get back reviews from you don't they? Let's see.. how many posts did you have about Maxtor, Quantum, Hitihachi, WD, Seagate... when THEY first came out?

I said an VAGUE 8800. Never said GT,GTS,Ultra,GTX did I? Hmm?
