Printer cartridge error, help please!

Hi, my printer shows Cartridge error 50c when i try to print, it tells me to replace the cartridges but i know this is a costly process, i have places where i can get them cheaper but i have already replaced the black cartridge, is there any solution?
The printer is a lexmark X5150

How long ago did you replace the black cartridge? And does it want you to replace both cartridges?

you can buy a refile kit. messy but it is cheeper
