Printer preparation

I have a HP C5180 Photosmart printer that wants to run "printer preparation" almost every 4-5 copies. It does it every morning when I try to print the first copy of the day. It is most annoying and takes over a minute to prepare. Is there a setting which I can set to avoid this? :(
I am using Windows 7 and have up to date HP drivers.

No doubt i never heard of this problem.
Im asking and checking first..start over.
goto Control Panel
hardware & sound
View devices & printers
right click your printer and right click 'set as default printer'.

Also start button, computer 'RIGHT CLICK'
Properties
Device manager are you seeing any yellow exclamations?

If you do right click your printer with exclamation then find a
better driver.

were just starting over.

my only thought:
wait for someone else to reply because i don't know.
Other, call the manufacture. should not have problems with hp support.
call them.
good luck

Doesn't every printer do the prep prior to the first run of the day, cleaning out nozzles? It's the ones later that are puzzling. If it recently started, perhaps you have one defective cartridge that either blocks up or thinks it is.
