I just got new ink for my printer.. and at first it would not print black.. I figured it was just cloged so I cleaned it and now it prints black.. but I am watching it and its printing in color then over it a few times with other stuff to make it black.. thats wasting my color ink.. I have it set to standard quality.. is this normal?. its a lexmark Z 23... thanks

Yeah, for sure. Check the color of the text and make sure that it is black and not a really dark purple or something...

printers may only use black in text and color in any artwork. just a guess but try text and see

In the print setting\options after you click print there should be something about printing color in blank and white, try that just to see if it can use thre black at all.

ok.. I think I fugured it out, Like I said in the begining it was not printing black..well I messed with the settings and somehow turned it on paper type : glossy.. thats why it was doing that.. I set it back to plain paper and it trys to print using the black cartrage but nothing shows up, that bastard ebay scammer sent be a bunk black cartrage.. and is no longer a regestered user.. glad it was only like $20 for both. I guess I will try cleaning the head and printing a whole page of black to try to "purge" the black.. I know that not the right word for it but it sounds ballin like nitrous..so Im gonna use it, I will let you now if it works.

thanks for the help
