Printer Suggestion?

ok im buying a printer for someone she needs it for school she will be printing mostly documents and some art that will need color..im looking for one that prints at a decent speed and ink doesnt run out so quick on..the price im looking to spend is between $50-$80 would like to keep it as cheap as possible..thanks alot

Epson C88+ is $80 with very good cartridge life and price per page. Most HPs will be too costly on ink at that price range, with the exception of the HP 7850 that's about $50. Plus, the Epson has separate colors, allowing for even more efficiency on the color. :)

Stay away from Canons like the iP1600. Terrible ink cost, non-refillable cartridges, and eventually you'll need to send the printer in for service when you get the "waste ink absorber full" error message. When that shows up, your printer will stop working and there's no consumer-level reset procedure.
Avoid!

• HP 98 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge (11 ml)
• HP 93 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge (5 ml)
You'll be making HP rich on cartridge replacements if you do any sort of printing in volume. The problem is that's what most newer inexpensive printers do:(
Here's a counteroffer:

Why? Individual ink tanks that last a good long time, with great results! You won't spend a lot in the long run. Cheap printers get you in the wallet with ink costs. Each ink cart for that printer is 14ml, and only $13.

Good suggestion OverMaster. The 6000D is a little older model, but it still is a very high quality printer. All this really does for you is get you an excellent printer for pretty cheap since it's "out of date"... :)

As for cheap printers costing lots on the ink, that is extremely true on everything except Epson and Canon inkjets. When Epson and Canon come out with a new line of printers, they usually come out with the same cartridges for all the printers, low end to high end. Makes it easier to find the right cartridges, and it proves that they are not trying to completely rip you off on the ink like some other companies... *cough* HP *cough* :D
