Printer won't print.

Ok, I'm trying to print a document using a Lexmark X2470. The printer is on; that green light that shows that it's on... it's on solid, not blinking.

When I click the print button, the print queue pops up, showing me all the pending print jobs.

There are no other print jobs in the queue besides this one.

And yet, the printer does absolutely nothing!

Why?! How do I get it to print?

Uninstall the printer and reinstall it and see if that works. also what operating system are you running? It's possible the print spooler service isn't running. Right click on "my computer" click on manage, click on services on the left hand side. Find print spooler service on the right and double click on it. Startup type should be set to automatic and service status should be set to started. If it says stopped. click on start and then try printing again. If you get an error message after cicking on start post the error message.

How do I do that?

Also, I finally managed to get it to print. However, there's another problem.

The paper always gets jammed. Always. You know those wheels that roll around and push the paper down into the printer using friction? Well, there's only one of those on my printer, and it only pushes on one side. I guess you could say, this printer doesn't have positraction in its feed.

And, for the most part, it's always worked fine. However, now, the paper is always getting fed into the printer at an awkward angle, and I have no idea why. It's like there's something underneath the other side of the paper that's blocking it and keeping it from being pushed down. However, there's nothing there keeping it from being pushed down! At least, nothing that I can see!

How old is this printer? How much printing do you do? its possible that its just getting warn out.

Do you still have the printer install cd? Basically you just go into add/remove programs and uninstall the printer software then insert the printer cd and follow instructions.

Unfortunately, I do quite a lot. I'm in court right now and I don't have a lawyer, so I have to do everything myself.

And the worst part is I don't have enough money to just buy another printer! I wish I did, but I don't!
