Privacy on Wireless

If there is another post answering my question sorry but I couldnt find it. I live in a duplex and me and my neibor recently decided to share a wireless connection because we were both paying for internet. The router is on his side and I know that he can view what I am doing on the internet. I dont know that he is and he probably wouldnt but I just would rather be safe. What are some steps I can take to ensure that this cannot happen. Theres got to be some sort of program or somehting. I searched google but everything I found is the crazy computer lingo. I consider myself fairly computer literate but Im not a computer whiz by any means so please keep it simple. Any help will be appreciated, thank you

your probably right and not doing it. I have shared in the past like that. A geek has to be very knowledgeable and really bored with that type of follow up.
I would only be concerned if maybe using credit cards.
look for proxy web tunnel. (of course its not free). theres software you can buy that will let you piggy back on a public proxy. never did like though. to slow sometime and other times your exposed. you have to hunt constantly for a piggy back.

oh well.
