Pro Tools (Recording Software) Friendly Mac?

Hey guys,

I'm really try to get a small recording studio set up for myself and I want a reliable desktop to do so. I've heard when wanting to run pro tools smoothly, these specs are almost necessary:

-4 Gb SDRAM
-Core i5-i7 processors

I've been suggested the G5 before, but understand that its operating system limits versions of protools past PT8.

Any suggestions? I'm kind of on a budget around 750, but I will scrounge up the extra cash if need be.

Thanks

Unfortunately your budget really will restrict you. For that amount of money I would recommend going for a custom build PC as that will give you the most bang for your buck.

As for requirements, it is highly recommended that you use no less then 4GB of RAM in your system. Don't worry, RAM is relatively cheap now in days. Now for the processor it will really depend on how demanding your recordings get and all the plugins your going to be using and such. Personally I would use nothing less then a quad core processor running anywhere from 2.5Ghz or higher. Most i5's or i7s fall within this category.

Your budget will easily get you the computer you need to get your recording going as long as your going for a PC.
