Problem burning CD photos

When attempting to create CD from photos in 'My Pictures' everything seems OK until the last stage. Pictures get copies ready for CD burning then message comes up .... Error in writing process... disc may not be useable.
Am using CD-R discs which are un-used. Have un-checked 'read only' tag in the individual folder properties but just will not complete operation. Would appreciate any advie please.
 
this could be due number of reasons.
1.Discs you using may not be compatible with your cd writer.
2.what is program do you use to burn these pictures?
3.what is your cd/dvd writer?
4.what are the discs you using to burn?

this info will help us to resolve your problem.
 
it happens when you but only pictures on a cd with alot of files on one directory. usually happens with nero i dont know if you are using that but i make alot of folders so there arent alot of files in each dir.

Disc detail: 52x Compatible CD-Recordable MR.DATE 80 min/700 mb
CD writer details: Lite-On DVD RW SOHW-1633S & Samsung DVD ROM
SD.616E.
Programme being used. Using the program from my pictures on Windows XP Home and have also got FxFoto installed.
Have got a lot of photos in the particular folder I am trying to create CD for but have tried transferring just a few in case there were too many in the main folder.
CD writer is working because I have created and copied music onto the discs I am attempting to use. Also have tried to download onto DVD-R without success. Hope this helps look forward to hearing again if possible, many thanks.

Downloaded free copy of Nero and glory be have managed to burn a CD straight away. Went back to my FXFoto programme and tried again with that programme but with the same unsuccessful result. Not sure why this is happening but all is well with Nero so will continue with it. Be interested to know if you have any thoughts on why one prog is OK and others not !!
