Problem downloading WoTLK, help

Hey guys. So my brother is trying to install the new Wraith of the Lich King WoW game, and he is having some problems.

He gets various errors during the download phase. There are different as well sometimes. The disk isn't crappy, he tried a friends disk too and it has the same effect. The cd-drive isn't crap, it reads other games. So what is going on?

Someone suggested that maybe the older disk drive cannot recognize the newer cd because maybe it can't handle the encryption. Can something like this really be happening?

Im having the same problem...If i find the answer i will let u know and i hope u do likewise

It's a DVD, you can't put a DVD into a CD drive.

If that's not the problem then I don't know.

Okay problem solved. I think it did have something to do with the cd and cd drive itself. My brother got on the phone with a Blizzard employee and because my bro had a purchased cd key, he just walked him through downloading the executable file online and he never needed to use the physical disc.
