I just replaced my SATA CD/DVD burner with an HP 1040i IDE and things are still the same. When I burn CD's onto a high quality bllank CD+R it doesn't pay in my car. What am I doing wrong?

IMSATI,
THAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM. I WAS DOING WMA AND HAVE SWITCHED TO mp3. WMA HAS PLAYED FINE. IS THERE ANY SOLING THIS?

Short of getting an after-market CD player for your car, probably not. It might sound odd, but you could try checking to see if there's a firmware update for Kia's stock system...new cars come with new technology, so it's possible, though honestly unlikely.

Other than buying conversion software/hardware I think I'm stuck trying to find songs in WMA and let me tell kya, there ain't many of them.
Thanks for the insight.

kbiggs about formating software willdo it any thing itunes is an easy one or you could check the setting on your cd burning software it might have the option to burn in different formatts

Burned Cd's Not Playing In Car

sthompson,
My hat goes off to you AND the snot-nosed kid at Radio Shack (yeah, I was THAT desparate). I went into iTunes and converted all the files to AAC from mp3 and burned 10 test songs, took it out to my truck and sat there waiting for it to eject. VOILA'! It didn't eject and the sound quality is excellent.:)
I can't say thank you enough.

Some (usually higher-end models) cars are upgradeable in that manner, most (Kia's included) are typically not, but worth checking in some cases. I never said it was a sure-fire way, only something to look in to.
