Hey guys,
Sorry there is not specific problem listed in the title of this post, but honestly, im not sure what to call it
.
My dad's computer is giving him some strange problems. When he starts up and logs into his account, he gets a ton of pop-ups saying that things like "windows media player has failed" but for a bunch of different programs.
problem number 2 was, he did a system restore to 5/1/08, but when it loaded up, there were still icons there for things that he put on AFTER that restore point (and they were blank icons, just a picture of a paper). This problem isnt as concerning, but I dont think I should leave anything out.
Problem 3 is, now, when he starts up he still gets those pop-ups, BUT now when he trys to open ANYTHING (including things like documents, control pannel and other things you SHOULD be able to get into at all times, it wont let him open it. He gets a new pop-up that says "Class Not Registered"
He put it in safe mode, logs in gets the same pop-up (but when he didnt try opening anything) "Class Not Registered".
Is there anybody that knows anything about what could possibly be the problem or how to fix it? Any and all help is greatly appriciated.
Thanks,
Mike
