I have a huge problem with my pc ive tried most things didnt work so got directed here.

My problem is that i was running a scandisk on my Samsung 250g SATA hard-drive and it crashed mid way. When i restarted my pc would load and then crash, so i decided to wipe then reload XP. Every time i tried the machine would power down at the install screen. So i left it for a couple of days went back managed to load XP files then when it restarted came up with a blue screen systam error.

I have tried hooking up my old ATA drive but my m/board doesnt see it. Im completely stuck i cant use my SATA and it wont even see my ATA drive. If i could get my ATA going i would know it was a HD problem. My motherboard is a Foxconn 945G7M.

Any help would be great.

When you go into your BIOS your Parallel ATA hard drive is not being recognized?

Are you sure you connected the 40-pin Parallel ATA connector correctly to your motherboard and hard drive? And did you also connect the hard drive up to your power supply?

If you did all the above, have you tried hooking up this Parallel ATA hard drive to another computer to see if it is recognized in another BIOS?
