Problem installing Micro-XP

Hi,

first post, looking for some expertise..

I have an old laptop which I want to use an internet machine. i want to get online quickly

I heard about the minimalist OS Micro-XP which sounded perfect

I bought a 10GB HDD off ebay, and used Partition Logic to remove partitions / and format etc, for a fresh start

I downloaded & burnt an ISO image of Micro-XP. when I ran the machine, it all seemed to install ok, but then when it restarts it just hangs on black screen with cursor. as if it cannot boot from the HDD. Can anyone tell me, what am i doing wrong?

it follows the same as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&v=0e76E-OVnsk until the stage 2 minutes & 3 seconds into this video, then it just hangs as above

many thanks for your help

NO I did not know that, the guy who told me about it talked as if it was legal

thanks for the heads up

are there any decent legal fast booting internet aimed OS's?

or am I gonna have to wait for Google's OS next year?

does linux boot fast?

thanks again

Yes they have different versions of linux that would be perfect (and legal) for your needs. Ubuntu would run great.
