Problem installing windows!!!

I bought a new machine which i plan to put as a data server in my business, ive tried installing different type of windows (xp, 2003 server, 2003 server x64) and none of them pass the screen where the cd starts to copy the needed archives to install windows, i constantly get during this process error reading certain files, and can not copy them, always having to omit these files 99% of the times ive tried to install windows in any of its variants i get a blue screen usually a PAGE_NON_FAULT or a 0X00000005 or something similar.

The system is configured like this: Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.4GHz, 4Gb DDR2 667mhz ram in 2x2gb sticks (i´ve removed 1 of the sticks for installing windows), 2x500GB SataII Hitachi hard Drives, INtel DG31PR Motherboard, and a Sata DVD-Rw drive.

Any idead would be of great help.

The first thing to do when having 4gb or more installed and end seeing installation problems is to remove enough to bring it down to 3gb or less. Even with a 64bit edition this is commonly seen on MS pages.

Now that one dimm is out and you are still having problems try replacing the one in use with the one removed in case of a bad dimm. Bad ram will cause immediate problems with any OS! Dram timings not set properly in the bios and voltages set too high for the memory installed if not on auto will also cause havoc at times.

The other item to consider besides memory however is a bad hard drive or simply a bad data cable if you have both power and that plugged in correctly. The HD can still be seen listed on the initial post screen while the drive itself or the cable could still be the problem.
 
ive tried the hard drive swapping, and cable swapping. I havent tried changing memory though.Memory Settings are in auto.

Will try changing memory ....

Any probability of a bad DVD-RW drive?

With different installation disks tried for different versions of Windows it's slightly possible that the optical drive or even that cable is goofed. I had a bad cable here that still saw Windows and all other softwares install but would not see a dvd-rw. Once the cable was replaced suddenly you can open an explorer window to browse an empty disk.

Every effort is stalling at the exact point showing that one thing is common to all. If the memory is incompatible with that make and model board yes replacing memory would be needed. Trying a totally different optical drive and cable to see if any version completes would rule out memory as the cause. Have a spare optical onhand?

Here the red sata cable included with the board was the problem. A box full of a longer orange colored cabled ordered from a now forgotten vendor online solved other problems in addition to not seeing rw disks. When it refused to boot from any disk drive or cable? Cable! The same could apply there.
