problem on start up

im having a problem on start-up, everytime i power up my comp. i have to hit a key in order for it to start. the lights inside the case come on but the comp just wont start-up. til i hit any key. it has been doing this since the 1st time i started it, im running windows XP

anyone ever heard of a problem like this?

sorry guess i couldve givin more info, i can press any key and im not getting a message. when 1st tried to start it nothing would happen, i just happen to hit the keyboard and it started right up. since then its alway been like that, which really hasnt been a problem til now i just got a new keyboard (usb). which isnt powered up til after the comp is running so i have to keep my old wireless keyboard out so i can start my comp.
