Problem Playing Video in WMP 10

When I play videos I had recently downloaded, I get an error box saying:

"Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem with the player,"

it's error
0xC00D11CD.

I never had this problem before and all my other videos work great.

Also, if you leave the box there, The audio will work but the bar at the buttom won't move like it usually does, the one that shows you how far your into the video. But if click "close" at the bottom of the box, the audio will stop. It's weird. I tried uninstalling WMP and reinstalling it but I et the same thing.

For some reasons you remind of "lil_nudist girl"..ok forget that
as for your question there are many alternatives for it,WMP ain't worth a dime, try something else like vlc or MediaPlayer Classic or even Real player

Here is a list of causes that might have generated the error. Follow the link:
C00D11CD-error

Is your codec updated? If not Google the latest codec pack. It might help solve the problem. I believe the good one is KLite codec pack.
Otherwise try patrickv's suggestion and try out vlc media player, found here: VLC Media Player
