Problem recognizing sata hard drive

Lol, yeah,in fact I did that, that backup file is on the hard drive. What would I do with it, put on a floppy than start the computer?

As for the 5 1/4" adapter thing, I assume your talking about putting the floppy drive in the 5 1/4" bay? I actualy have two external 3.5" bays anyway, so im good, just a matter of gettin the drive. So I guess Ill try getting a bootable floppy and reconfigure the bios if I can get in?

Let me know what you where thinking for the backup bios file, is there something I can do with it at this point?

You will have to follow the instructions seen in the user manual that came with the board or follow the online instructions seen on the links at http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/bioshelp.php That shows how to go about using he floppy method as well as downloading the dos tool needed. Once you load the tool you have to remember to enter the correct information and remember this clears the cmos during the flash. The first needed after a good flash is entering time and date as well as any other changes made since you first installed the board.

Well, I was finaly able to get it fixed. As it was looking for a floppy each time it started, I was able to use an ms-dos bootable floppy with a new bios file and flash program on it to revive the bios. Now Ive also windows reading the drive. Thanks everyone.

Great to hear that! Just be careful the next time you go to update a bios that you have either a backup or a backup plan ready. That can save you some anguish there.
