Problem trying to get files from my old Hard Drive...

The laptop is busted due to water damage, i have removed the hard drive and brought a product that will enable me to use it as a extarnal hard drive. i basicly wan't to get all the important info of the old laptop drive, I have pluged this in to my current computer and i can see the drive, but the problem is i can't get in to any of the OLD administrator files. i can see and open up the program file but as soon as i look in to the administrator documents it says ' E:\documents and settings\katie phillips is not accesible access denied'

You had an ID/Password on the old laptop? Try creating a new user on your PC with full access (admin) for a short amount of time. You can delete it after. Make the ID/PASSOWRD the same as the ID/PASS on the laptop. Then copy the files.
