Problem when updating AMD Drivers

Hey all, I'm having an issue with updating my drivers for my laptop. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7700m series graphics card for my laptop w/ windows 8. It also has integrated intel 4000 graphics. Basically, when I update the drivers it won't. The install gets to the point where (I assume) it resets the card and then the update manager says it's not responding... Then im stuck in a cycle of the card resetting or something(the screen flashes black every 15-20 seconds). So then i reboot, and it's obviously running off of the intel graphics (games running awfully on low settings whereas the amd card can handle good settings). and i have to system restore to before I . believe me it's no fluke, I've had to system restore 4 times now.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
 
  1. Set a restore point.
  2. Download DriverSweeper and install it.
  3. Uninstall AMD/ATi display drivers in the normal 'Add and Remove Programs' way in Windows.
  4. Restart
  5. Run DriverSweeper and select all AMD/ATi display driver options
  6. Scan and Clean.
  7. Restart.
  8. Install downloaded driver.
  9. Restart.
