Problem with Asus Eee Netbook

Had this problem a while back because it would not turn on. Turn on and the windows logo comes on then blank screen. Booted to dos and works fine. Started up windows again and same thing. Problem?

Tilted the screen forward about 90 degs vertical with keyboard and works.
Tilt it back at an angle then black screen. Any ideas if i can fix it?

So the only issue is if the screen is tilted a certain way? If you open it past a certain way then Windows and the computer work fine right? If that's the case it sounds like the computer thinks you are closing the display and it's going to sleep.

If it's the latter, then I would simply go into the power options under the control panel, and under sleep settings disable it to sleep when the display is closed.

Ok thanks. I will try that later. I hope thats it. I hate the idea of taking this thing apart for inspection.

Tried that and still did the same thing. Any other suggestions on what to look at.
Suspect hardware but not sure what to look for if taking apart.
