im having probs.when a pc starts it says "CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR - DEFAULTS LOADED"...then i reset, it booted normally..after sometime it didn't boot at all.So i removed the cmos and wait about 5 min or so then placed it back.It booted with the error again....though giving error we are able to go in windows (that's ok)

what is wrong exactly ,is it the cmos battery who's dying ?
should i get a new cmos ?

the error (well, not actually an error, but just a message) you got say's that the bios has been without power, hence the saved data is lost,.. thats why it loads the default values. so yes, i think your bios battery is dead/dieing.. just get a new one, and it should work all fine again :)
