I'm hoping someone can help...When i start up the computer all I get is 3 long beeps. I'm pretty sure it has to do with memory, but I don't know what to do to fix it. If someone could please help me I'd really appreciate it :)

Solution 1 is to read your motherboards manual,it explains what exactly each beep sequense means.
Solution 2 is to try replacing each part of hardware until you find which one causes the problem.
Also try to remove the ram chips and place them again making sure they are mounted correctly.

what brand/type of motherboard do you have? usually in the manual of it is a table with error codes too... but we need a bit more info before we can help actually. one problem could be that the grafic's card isnt fully in place anymore.

I appreciate all the advice...I just took out the memory and put it back in and it is working fine...could it be as simple as a loose connection? or is it going to crash on me again soon? If the memory does need to be replaced, will I lose everything on my computer?

Re-seating memory is good troubleshooting practice for mem issues and no, you won't loose info on your hard drive if you loose a mem module(s). Looks like your problem was just an improperly seated module.

I don't know how dusty the inside of your machine is but if it is dusty, Just as a precaution I would 1st blow it out with the RAM installed ,then remove the RAM, blow out the RAM sockets, then re-install the RAM and power it up.
