I was installing my operating system onto my computer. While the hard drive was formatting, I accidently pulled the switch which turned off the computer. Now when I try to install the operating system again, I get an error called "Error in loading operating system." I have made sure that the CD is in the drive. What can I do to fix this?

Reformat the drive? or if it isnt letting you get that far try taking the HDD out and put it into another PC to format it.

Is taking the hard drive out and reformatting it on another PC the only thing I can do? There's nothing I can do about it now?

Try taking out cd

Re-Inserting and trying again,

That shouldn Effect being able to reformat it again, just do what you did last time,

Or Wont it let you?

Remember too boot from cd..

Okay, I was able to boot it up. Now here's a message I get, and I don't know what to do.

The following list shows the existing partitions and unpartitioned space on this computer.

Use the UP and DOWN keys to select an item from the list.

-To set up XP on the selected item, press enter
-To create a partition in the unpartitioned space, press C
-To delete the selected partition, press D

Here's what I can select from:

C: Partition1 (Unknown) 476930MB (474929MB free)
Unpartitioned Space - 8MB

So basically, what do I want to do now?

What you want to do here is

DELETE the partition and redo.

SO

Press D on Partition 1 (C:/)

And then C to re-Create the partition C:

Then ENTER On Partition 1 (C:)

Btw, This is assuming you only want the one Partition.

IF You want more than one partition...

Press D on Partition 1 (C:/) (To delete it completely)

And then C, Specify size of partition 1
C Again to specify next size you want on the UNPARTITIONED Selection
So on till you have what you want.

Then ENTER On Partition You want Windows Installed onto.

And DONT PUSH THE BUTTON THIS TIME xD
