problem with cousins network

Ive brought my computer to my cousins house and for some reason i cant connect to his network, ive tried moving my network card, plugging into the network, auto-connecting, manually connecting, restarting modem, intalling a USB adapter. i cant think of anything but bouncing my interet off his comp but i have no idea how to do that..... can anyone here help?
 
does your cousin have a network filter set up on his router?
where the router only always computer with approved MAC addresses to gain access to the network.

or does he have not have DHCP setup on his network but instead static ip addresses?
